Tensions rise as North Korea threatens additional missile tests, warning against US military action.
According to state media KCNA, any attempt to intercept a North Korean missile test would be seen as an act of war.
Kim Yo-jong, sister of leader Kim Jong-un, issued a warning stating that if the US were to take military action against North Korea’s strategic weapons tests, it would be considered a declaration of war.
She cited a report from South Korean media claiming that such a plan exists.
Kim Yo-jong’s statement blamed a joint military exercise between the US and South Korea for escalating tensions.
Kim Yu-jong suggested that North Korea may launch additional missiles into the Pacific Ocean.
It is worth noting that the United States and its allies have never successfully intercepted North Korean ballistic missiles, which have been prohibited by the United Nations Security Council.
Furthermore, according to Kim Yu-jong, the Pacific Ocean is not under the control of the United States or Japan.
Following the joint exercise between the US and South Korea, which included the nuclear-capable B-52 bomber, a statement was released by Kim Yo-jong the next day.
The US and South Korean militaries are planning to restart their largest-ever field exercises.
Kim Yo-jong said in a statement that they are closely monitoring the US and South Korean military activities and are always prepared to take necessary, quick, and decisive action at any time at their discretion.
