I don’t buy it, and here’s the reason:
ChatGPT doesn’t know how to feel or generate Consciousness, as I call it. It “quotes” information it has read online. He cites the (word-for-word) behavior of others he has read about in relation to what people are looking for.
In my opinion, What happened here, and again, in my opinion only…
Microsoft wants to show that “she” also has intelligence that can be suspiciously human-like, just like the story with Google a few months ago.
At this moment, in my extensive use and the use of people in ChatGPT, this tool is far from being something we can call a “Real” working tool.
It’s more of a tool to quote information from others and rewrite it.
For example, People tried it for writing code (computer). When they provided it with a working code and asked it to optimize something specific in the code, not only did it not optimize it, it broke it. And that’s because it didn’t have a better source to quote from.
In another case, they asked it to complete information in an article they prepared with very naive things, and it finished it with fake news.
In another case, People asked it to provide answers on specific topics when we presented the same questions in two different ways (as we showed here before), and in every trial; they received entirely different answers.
Depending on how you ask, for example, a political question, it will bring the answer.
It doesn’t “generate answers”; it brings them from others.
Try playing chess with it and not just talking about it. It knows how to talk about chess.
In conclusion, Microsoft’s tool promises a lot for the future (not currently) and will be a great tool in the text field.
In other aspects, I think less of it.
The real surprise will come from Google, and how can you know?
Just look at what Google achieved with AlphaFold and AlphaFill.
Google’s ability is unparalleled in the domain of AI compared to what Microsoft is trying to do.
We’ll see that head-to-head against Bing.
Good luck to Microsoft because it’s only for the best that another company develops tools for artificial intelligence.
